The, also mandatory, barbecue stop. This time we tried High Cotton in Kitty Hawk. It’s hard to go wrong with bbq, and this was really good. Very family friendly. Their Carolina sauce with a little different, spicier, but still good. I like to soak mine with the vinegar first and then drench it with regular, topped with cole slaw. Best of both worlds. Most of us ordered the BBQ sandwich, while Mama got the BBQ plate. Semi-chopped, semi-pulled pork. Good flavor. The mac and cheese was normal, but the cole slaw was better. Mama got fried okra with hers, which was to her description, good but would’ve been better had it been warm. Oh, and the hush puppies were.. hush puppies.
